I was born in China with a form of albinism and legal blindness and was abandoned within a week of my birth. But by the grace of God, my story didn’t end there. When I was about four years old, I came to the United States and grew up deeply rooted in the church — a community that surrounded me with love and countless opportunities to explore my passion for audio and media.

Growing up, my home church didn’t have a livestream or much in the way of lighting design — most of my early experience was focused on audio and running media through ProPresenter. When COVID hit during my sophomore year at Christopher Newport University, I was sent home and helped design and implement my church’s first livestream system so our services could reach people wherever they were.

At CNU, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Information Science with double minors in Digital Humanities and Leadership Studies. I also worked as an AV Event Technician and eventually became a supervisor within that department, honing my craft and preparing for the work I do today.

Currently, I serve as the primary Production Coordinator for Coastal Church. In this seven-campus multi-site church, I oversee all aspects of audio, video, and lighting for services and events. I’m also the Director of Information Technology for Summit Christian Academy, supporting students and staff with the technology they need to thrive.

Beyond my primary roles, I freelance in production for other churches, assisting with system installs, team training, troubleshooting, and helping ministries grow their technical capabilities. In my free time, I also work as a contracted wedding videographer for various companies, capturing couples’ most important moments through a lens many might assume I could never use.

Despite my legal blindness, I’ve dedicated my life to mastering visual and technical work, proving that real vision is about faith, perseverance, and seeing what’s possible through the lens of God’s purpose for my life.
